Storm debris in pool

The Pool Boys Hurricane Recovery Efforts

We hope this message finds you and your family safe after Hurricane Beryl. The Pool Boys are working today, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Please understand that the hurricane recovery process for swimming pools may take several weeks and multiple visits to get everything back on track, especially with the amount of debris and pools without power. Working together, we will get your pool back online as quickly as possible.

As part of this effort, please note that excessive debris, pools that have not had power for days, etc… may require additional chemicals and labor that will incur additional charges. We will work with our customers on a case by case basis and communicate with you individually.

Here’s the 3 main goals of this week.

  1. Clear the Debris so the Pool Can Function. This means if your pool looks like the one above, we are going to remove the bulk of debris this week, clean all baskets and make sure the drains are clear. If you can help remove some of the debris, that’s great! Our guys can’t remove large debris from the pool, like lawn chairs, so anything you can do to help out is appreciated! What doesn’t get removed this week, we’ll follow up next week until we get caught up.
  2. Make Sure There are Chemicals in the Pool. Heavy debris and loss of power means we probably need to shock the pool ASAP. We’ll be adding liquid chlorine to shock the pools that need it this week, but if your regular service day is Thursday or Friday and you have shock on hand and feel safe using shock, feel free to add a little to the pool and turn on the pump for at least 8-10 hours to circulate well. Be sure the skimmers and drains are clear as well.
  3.  Make Sure the Filtration System is Running. Once we have the skimmers and drains clear of debris and all baskets emptied, we’re going to do a quick equipment check to make sure everything is circulating properly and filter pressure looks good.

If you have power, feel free to check your equipment is operating properly and keep an eye on your filter pressure. If it gets high, it’s advisable to shut off your pool system to avoid damage. Notify our office immediately if you experience any equipment failures and we can dispatch a repair tech ASAP.

Please understand, like many of you, about half our staff still doesn’t have power or phone service at home, but they’re out here working today to get you taken care of, so please be kind, and we’ll do our best to get everyone back online and swimming again as quickly as possible.

Stay Safe,
Zac & Justin

I needed to discuss options to repair a component to my pool equipment. Jennifer came out first thing this morning to listen to my concerns and give me expert advice about how to remedy the situation with many options. She took photos and sent them to me as well as referrals to trustworthy companies who could address the issue and solve it, Thank you you, Jennifer, for your time and wisdom on how to get the issue resolved! I know how to proceed forward now. And service with confidence and a smile! The Pool Boys are an awesome company to work with, and I’m thankful that they take care of my pool cleaning needs every week. Five Star Company!
