TIME FLIES. It seems like just the other day I finished our 2018 company update and here we are again starting another new year. Reflecting back on 2018 it amazes me how many changes and improvements The Pool Boys have made. I attribute this to having such an amazing team. We have all worked very hard to keep improving our systems and process in an effort to be the best pool service provider to our customers. We are thankful for the continued support of all of our customers and hope you all had a great 2018 as well!
Swimming Pool Warehouse Merger
To start 2018 off we made the decision to merge our pool supply store brand, Swimming Pool Warehouse (SPW), to The Pool Boys. After a couple of years of operating as SPW we realized that trying to grow two separate brands was taking time away from The Pool Boys. By having The Pool Boys take over SPW our branding efforts are now strengthened, which is another plus in our journey to become the trusted choice of all pool owners.

We love our culture here at The Pool Boys and continue to work on making it even better. It’s impressive what a difference it makes when you have the right teammates. James joined us in the Spring time and has helped us build our newest service offering - weekly pool maintenance. Just before the end of the year we were fortunate to add two more Team Members - Drew (Maintenance Technician) & Mike (Equipment Technician). That now makes 7 of us “Pool Boys and Girls.” We hope to grow our team even more in 2019!
Now Offering Weekly Pool Maintenance
In the Spring of last year we launched our newest service offering - Weekly Pool Maintenance. We spent a long time planning and putting together our maintenance service before we decided to launch. Office support, repair support, communication methods, cleaning methods, chemicals used, and many other things where all discussed and modified to work on creating a higher quality of service to offer our customers. Our Maintenance Technicians document all chemical readings each visit, which they will email to you in a weekly service report. Lower Service Call Charge Rate
Those of you that have been using us over the years are familiar with the fact that there is a Service Call Charge for us to come out. This charge has been $90.00 for several years now. At the end of 2018 we got together and decided that we wanted to create more value for our customers by lowering our Service Call Charge to $75.00, a $15.00 decrease. Our goal is not to make money off of our Service Call Charge, it’s purpose is to make sure we cover our costs of sending out a Licensed, Insured, and Knowledgeable Technician to help you with your issue. This way The Pool Boys can be here for you in the long run.
Full Equipment Inspection with Every Service Call
In addition to lowering our Service Call Charge we have worked hard to implement a structured pool equipment inspection. With your $75.00 Service Call not only do you get an experienced Technician to troubleshoot your problem and provide an estimate for install/repair, you get a structured equipment inspection that covers the majority of pool/spa equipment setups. Once we have completed the inspection we will give you an estimate for the issue originally called in as well as an estimate for any other problems identified. We know it is an inconvenience to have to set up and deal with a repair call. Our goal is to minimize the number of times you have to deal with pool repairs each year.
2018 was a big year for us as we worked hard to dial in the way we do business. There were so many changes and improvements made that we could write another entire article about it!
